And voila ... Finally, after a few
weeks late (shit! We are not payed after all!) We present to you an interview with the
current winners of the LE11. We wanted a short interview in small groups. But it turns out, fortunately for us (and you!) A lot
of old ;
TnT wanted to answer ... They all had something to say ... enjoy:
1) Firstly, can you make a short presentation of yourself, then your team, its course, history?
Ush : semi retired now. It's what
happens when you're an old man!
I joined
TnT at it's inception (March
2004), but have been playing since November 2003. I was an ET Admin for
2 years, and captained the UK TMN team for the 1st 2 seasons of the
nation's cup. I was Captain Slow in the NC!
TnT was set up with
an intention to create a place where people can play together with a
good atmosphere, good team spirit, and solid fair play.
Over the years we have had many many people play for the team, and the door is always open if they have left! However a solid core of 20ish people have always been in place.
Our first season was LE2. Since then we have participated in every league on every version of the game, apart from a couple of SLs (even in those seasons,
TnT members participated as other
side project teams).
TMO was where we have always excelled, our prior "best" position was LE8 where we came 2nd. It's great to have a win only days before our 6th Birthday!!! What a great present.
We are a group of people who have built relationships in the game and try to keep the TM spirit alive in the team. Before skill comes SPIRIT. Before wins comes SPIRIT. Before ANYTHING comes friendship.
This is why we have survived so long, as the people here are good friends (I have travelled to USA and met
Tarth who came to my wedding. I met Sev in
France and she met me at the airport and took me to hotel and lunch.
Maxou and
Grobiare like brothers to me. And I want to visit
Stoud in Canada
but he doesn't know this yet :P, I have helped Yee with his English
homework about 10 times (lazy boy!) etc etc etc - the list goes on! -
this is more than a team!)
Like any group of friends you go through the good and the bad times together - if we are losing we laugh it off and we will improve -
if we only have 3 members for a whole season then we will fight with 3 (which we have done on many occasions!) We don't quit, we don't run, we don't infight. If someone does leave the team, then we let them leave, but the door is always open to them if they wish to return - they are part of the family.
[TnT] is the
oldest remaining unmerged team in TM. We are 6 years old (man I feel
old!) and have survived! It's great to have remained our own identity
and had success as well.
"TnT one day - TnT always"
Tarth : i have been playing TM since
December 2003.
On March 13th 2004 I founded the
TnT team with the
help of Eirmag and we built the team from there, we grew to be more than
a team.
We grew to be a community of players coming from all over the world. The spirit of the team team has always been around fairplay and fun.
We played our first league for the LE2 and have played all leagues since then except for a few SL's.
2) Then go back into the heart of the matter: your satisfaction with LE?
PaGaisu : yes. The 1rst place
long-awaited by
TnT has finally arrived! We are
especially pleased as we had to fight to get there.
Maxou : Hé, it's hard not to be
satisfied of our first tittle!
Perhaps we could have avoided some little accidents and make easier our way to the tittle but it's part of the game too. And in the end, we still win so yes, very happy to get finaly this first D1 victory that we've been waiting for so long... and that we missed several times in the past for nothing.
Now we'll try to follow the series.
Grobi :
What a question. How can someone not be satisfied with the 1st place.
We are very satisfied and we had much fun during this LE. In several leagues before we had some serious lineup problems.
In the LE11 we had nice lineups in all 3 registered teams which gave us lots of fun in training AND matches. One reason are the recruitments for sure but another importat reason is that all players found back to old motivation and brought back the fun to the team.
That is, in my opinion, the most important thing about LE11 for
TnT. Thanks to ET
Admins for organisation once again.
Ush: To win LE11 in our 6th year is a great achievement! I
am so proud of the guys who raced in all the teams.
It's great to see that for once we had not many line up problems!! A lot of older players came back and it was like a TnT super team :)
Thanks to ET for making it a successful year!!
3) How did you find that league?
PaGaisu: I
have known many LE in my career and I had never seen such a level. We have
seen a lot of talent and motivation among the players / teams. We
saw new stars appear in the World TM. I will not name, they will
recognize.
For the maps, I was a little disappointed because I did not find very great qualities. The maps are oriented for TA and rounds that they are too difficult and have mostly a lucky passage.
More precisely on the Desert maps: ET should stop taking maps with offroad. Some controllers are too advantaged with that.
Maxou: Well, I think this LE was very
exciting to play! or should I say to watch at last because I couldn't
involve myself very much because I didn't have much time but players
seemed to enjoyed a lot participating.
I think that, with the LE10 which gave us beautiful matches and an awesome finish after play off, LE11 was the edition with the highest global level.
And even without play-offs, the winner was decided in the last match (in D2 too! it's not over ) I think I've never seen the 3 firsts teams in less than 3 points in a LE since I started playing it (LE6).
That shows the interest team have in this special competition.
Except
Screwd, all
the teams that finished the league clearly had the potential to aim for
firsts places. In the end, it was decided matches after matches on the
capacity of each team to keep its best level.
That really was a great competition with all the ingredients , lot of potential winners, matches with great spectacle and a long suspens! :)
Soro: We REALLY enjoyed this LE and
all of us were sure that this LE going to be damn close, and so it was !
The Level was really high and the matches were incredible ! i loved the high level and the nervous feelings when it was 6-6 (against
TEP on Desert,
MD on Snow and Rally against
LSF) phew thats why i play TM! to
win such matches is a "nice bonus" but the most important is to have fun
, and we definetly had it ;)
GG Admins for the nice maps , seriously the desert maps rocked !
Grobi:
I am one of the drivers who who was moaning about maps quite often in
the last LEs. Probably because I am a keyboard driver for which the map
choice is a bit more important than for analog players.
But I must say that I enjoyed LE11 maps pretty much. The map chosen were imo the best choices since LE8. But still LE1 - LE5 ruled!
BlackCat : Maps were actually quite
decent, i don't have to much to complain about.
4) Why you win a LE, and not a UL?
PaGaisu: : The LE is obviously special for
TnT and
specially for me.
It is the oldest competition on Trackmania, it has quite a history. All teams TM legends have won at least once.
In my case, the LE is the only competition that interests me and realy motivates me. I've started with the LE and I always find that these are the most fun environments.
So long life the LE!
Soro: pretty simple. We started our
TM career with TMO.
It was hard for us to learn all the other envis . LE is like a homematch for us , all our players were looking forward to this League.
Grobi: It's very simple. Because TMO rocks!
Ush: TMO is my baby! It is TM in it's
purest form. I like the simplicity of the original environments, and
playing those environs remind me of what was awesome about this game in
the first place.
TnT was always a TMO team with Sunrise and Nations a
social addon.
Yannovsky:When I joined the TnT I
realized that I was virtually the only TMS player, the team has a great TMO culture.
The LE is the legitimate favorite league for the vast majority of players. Many inactive players resurfaced just to play this league.
5) How will you prepare for the next UL7?
BlackCat: I think TnT aims high,
top3!
N.i.k : For us it
would be a very important season, where we are will try to show our
improvements. I`m looking forward for this :)
Yannovsky: Well, we are aware of our capabilities as well as
our weakness.
I think we let the chance for players to assertive by gaining experience.
6) How do you find the actual league systeme?
BlackCat: Its cool, but i would love
to see a LE tourney played in pure cup mode, but to play in maybe best
of 3.
That would mean 3 Rally maps, 3 Desert, 3 Snow... So you will have to win atleast 5 maps of nine to qualify for the next round, this would be awesome and put alot of focus on every single match!
Yannovsky: Regarding the SL and LE, I
would prefer a system of 2 groups with playoffs in 1 / 2 finals and
final for the 4 qualified teams.
This system worked well in LE10.
Now, about the UL, it is much harder to find the perfect system due to the larger number of environments. The simple league system is critical because the teams do not all rocks on the same environments.
Indeed, consider the example with 3 teams A, B and C.
Team A is mainly oriented TMO, the B faces A with TMS and stadium environments, and the team C with 2 TMO environments and TMS or stadium. Team B is preferred and thus creates a gap in the championship.
The draw for the teams has an impact on the outcome of the league ...
As the system of UL6, with the choice of environments per team, I'm not a fan because at the end of the 3 pool matches, we can always return to play the same environments.
Reven had to play
stadium during the 3 pool matches.
Now, play the 7 environments in each game can show the real level of a team, of course, but it is almost inconceivable when it comes to organizing meetings.
We could notice it during the 2nd phase of UL6.
So what is the best system? Personally, I have no idea and I hope a lot of courage to admins ET!
7) Would you like to see TMUF on Esport scene, like TMNF?
PaGaisu: TMU
is at the players led him. Apparently, players are
satisfied with what they are presented now.
In my case, TM is and will remain a hobby. So, out of the question that i invest more in it. So no lan, just occasional visits online.
BlackCat: Sure, i
would love it! Esports are the future
N.i.k: I`m always happy to see TMUF lans on the esports
areas ! Yeah, i`m of course also glad to see TMNF example at WCG, but at
current time i`m a tmu player and for me tmu evens are more importants.
8) A final word?
Soro:
Thx to all my teammates ! you guys did a great job <3 GG to all
Teams i hope you enjoyed this LE as much as we did! we'll see us in UL7
Think Different Think TnT !
Ush :
Long may TnT, ET and TM continue - to be honest, even if the game ended
we have made friends for life. TnT would be around in some form!!
Thanks to ET for working so hard on the league.
I know first hand how tough it is - it completely takes over your life. Well done to them to making this so successful.
Junio:
